Nasturtium

Nasturtium makes a great addition to any garden. The flowers and leaves are edible, they are gorgeous companion plants since they act as "trap crops" that sacrifice themselves to lure hungry bugs away from your prized vegetables. They naturally attract pests like aphids, whiteflies, and caterpillars. By drawing insects to the nasturtiums, your vulnerable garden plants stay safe. Plus they make great fairy flower hats if you have children helping you garden! Nasturtiums make a great cover plant to retain moisture in garden beds and to help prevent weeds. Use edible flowers in vinegar to make Indian Cress vinegar, or use flowers and leaves in salads.
