11/14/26 Starting to Garden (Part 3): Maintaining Your Garden

📅 Saturday November 14th, 2026
⏰ 10:00am–11:30am
📍 5414 19th Ave S, Gulfport, Fl 33707

This is part two of three in our beginner-friendly "Starting to Garden" series. Please sign up for each part you plan on attending. Join Rachel Perrino, co-founder of the Little Tree Homestead, to learn how to get started from the beginning. Whether you have no beds in place and no idea where to start or if you have been gardening for a while, whether you want to just dip your toe in or rip out all your grass and fill your lawn with raised beds, Rachel will get you comfortable growing your own food in these unique Central Florida growing conditions.

Part three will be an interactive discussion on everything you need to know about maintaining your garden once plants are in the grounds. How much do we have to worry about fertilizing throughout the growing year? How often do we water? How do we handle diseases and pests? What needs to be protected from frost? What do I do with all of my tomatoes!? Bring you questions and concerns and Rachel will help you get ready to start your gardening journey on the right foot.

This will be an outside, hand's on class so bring a hat for shade and a water bottle.

This class is offered at a sliding scale price. Your contribution supports your participation as well as our mission to provide education and support for our community to live more sustainably. Please choose the amount that aligns with your finances knowing that your support is incredibly valuable. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
